Friday Favorites

October 14, 2011 by Kristy 15 Comments

10/14/11

I’m bringing back Friday Favorites…at least this week anyway.  Months ago I ran out of things that could be “favorite” worthy so I stopped posting about it.  Matt suggested Friday Rants, where I could probably go on and on, but I thought that would be too negative.  Here goes…

Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream
Delicious!  One of my favorite desserts, aside from my beloved DQ Blizzard.   And it MUST be served with vanilla ice cream…whipped cream would be nice too.

A larger scoop of ice cream is necessary

Deep tissue massage
I got my first deep tissue massage last night and it was heavenly.  In the past I stuck to the traditional Swedish massage but for my hamstring’s sake I went with deep tissue.  It was fabulous but the massage therapist could have dug a little deeper, especially on my right hammie, hip, and glute.  I wanted it to hurts-so-good.  Unfortunately, it’s an expensive favorite too 🙁

Pinterest
I’m not crafty or creative in the least so it’s a shock that I enjoy perusing Pinterest.  I don’t even use it to its full potential but I love just looking at all the home ideas.  We are re-doing both of our bathrooms and it’s great to visualize different colors and ideas.  Using door knobs as towels hooks?  Genius (pic here if you think it sounds weird)!  Search on “running” and you may lose your mind.  So many great quotes.  A few of my favorites…

Let me think – a Friday favorite. Well, this is what I look forward to each and every Friday – The Soup on E. I know that makes me like the dorkiest person ever and a couch potato, but that show makes me laugh and puts me in a happy zone if my week was rough.

Tomorrow is my last long run before I begin to taper before the race. I’m ready for it. I’m curious how I will feel after.

I love The Soup too. Used to watch it religiously.

You will feel fine after! You are going to keep the streak alive tomorrow. Do it!!!

Definitely massages – I was so indulgent and got a 90min massage the week before the marathon and then another one a couple days later! Was pretty awesome, I earned it 🙂

Those are GREAT quotes – especially like the first two!!

Why is DQ so good? And why is there not one in NYC?

Hmm – well, I’m psyching myself up for my LR tmw and I love lazy days watching TV — that’s what is making my Friday afternoon!

It’s the DQ Blizzard that is so good. Super creamy ice cream with your favorite candy mixed in. Beware of imitators — DQ is the only place that does it right!!!

warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is one of my favorites! Can’t go wrong. Eaten during a massage… now we’re talking. I want that. Now. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

    I love Pinterest!! It’s addicting.

Glad you brought ‘Friday Favorites’ back. And you can do ‘Friday Rants’ every once in awhile. Ranting is fun! 🙂

Rest up Holly!!! I hope you feel better. It sucks to be sick near race day after you trained so hard.

GOOD LUCK! Looking forward to a race recap!

Love, love, love the Olive Garden. It’s just always so crowded!
