Smile

November 1, 2011 by Kristy 18 Comments

11/1/11
7 miles
*6 x 800m at 1oK pace (7:30 pace)

Things that are making me smile today…

1.  An unoccupied track this morning!  Last week there was a team there practicing at 6:30AM.  Totally foiled my plans.

2.  A great Halloween with Matt and Hawk.

3.  Leftover Halloween candy

4.  The Philly Half Marathon is 20 days away.  I’m itching to race again!

5.  Fall weather!  Rumor has it by the middle of the week it’ll be back in the high 50s/low 60s.  No more snow!

What’s your favorite Halloween candy?  I would have to say Reese’s cups are the best.  And 3 Musketeers bars.

How much candy did you eat?  We only had 1 trick-or-treater (unreal!) and a bag of candy leftover.  You do the math…

Do Reese’s count as Halloween candy? I mean, they are available year round…hard to say. Candy corn is where it’s at though. We live on a third floor apartment so we don’t get any, we didn’t even get any candy this year, so I had ZERO Halloween candy. Unacceptable. Nice job on the run!

I also am a hug Reese’s fan! Although my trick-or-treaters get lollipops because I get hundreds of kids. I had 500 pieces of candy and ran out 45 min before the official end of trick or treating! Crazy!!

I didn’t eat any candy yesterday, but I had been eating some every day since I bought it. 🙂 I loved the Twizzlers and 3 Musketeers!

Oh, I’ve got a lot of Halloween treats that I Love. It’s a three-way tie between Snickers, Reeses & Kit-Kats. Oh, wait, the best Halloween treat i got last night, $20. Okay, it wasn’t for me, it was for Lili. We stopped by my uncle’s house and he gave a GIANT chocolate bar with $20. HOLLAH.

Great run, girlfriend. I am slacking today. I could not get any sleep and really, Lili was peaceful & down. I kept staring at her thinking to myself, “Why can’t I sleep like her?!?”

Hawk is so cute!!! Love the costume.

    I am absolutely a Reese’s fan.

We went to some friends’ home and trick or treated in their hood who seriously has like a giant block party. It was unreal. Jake had a flippin’ ball. He really got into it this year and said something akin to trick or treat and then once whatever was dropped in his pumpkin, he went “atoo!” (that’s thank you) and then retreated back down the driveway to show his dad his new treat. Every single house. LOL It was super cute to watch. I might have had more fun than him.

I love candy corn, but only around Halloween. otherwise they just don’t taste right. Those christmas candy corns are ridiculous! Yesterday I had some peanut m&ms

Yay! philly! I can’t wait to race a half…assuming I am still alive after nyc this weekend…

I’ve always been a fan of snickers or baby ruth. or kit kat. Or anything with peanut butter. I guess I don’t discriminate, as long as the candy isn’t those dots? I always hated those.

We only had about 5 trick or treats and I was devastated! Not to mention the FULL large bowl of candy I have leftover.
And cannot wait for the temps to go back up! Do you find it harder to do races in the colder temps? I don’t think I’d ever sign up for one in November around here.

I live for Reese’s and peanut m&ms. I got home a little late from the gym so I can the tail end of all the trick or treaters and only had 5! But that was OK bc I barely had any candy left bc ate it all over the weekend! Ha

      hi steph,

i’m not staying overnight as i live very close. any of the downtown hotels (or “center city” as we call it) would be perfect. then you could either take the train to the start (near art museum) or take a cab. all of the dowtown hotels will be close to the start. there are so many bloggers running the race. do you know if there is a meet-up planned?

My fav candy is resee pieces. 🙂 I ate quite a bit of candy….but that’s ok. It was Halloween. Back to normal the next day. I give my extra candy to my first grade students. 🙂

I bought a bag of Reese’s PB cups “for trick or treaters” knowing we don’t get trick or treaters 🙂 I love the bonus pics of Hawk as a lobster.
