Five things I’m excited about or looking forward to this weekend:
1. I have today off from work. Enough said.
2. I just finished a 13-miler with absolutely no hamstring tightness. I feel 100% back to normal, except my speed is still on vacation. It’ll come back, eventually.
3. I get to see Matt today. He’s been away for work the past 2 weeks (again). These 2-week trips are getting old. I can’t wait to spend the weekend with him.
4. Tonight is our annual Girls’ Christmas. My friends and I get together every Christmas for lots of eating and drinking. I look forward to it every year (note that the long run was done this morning so I can be hung over tomorrow 🙂 )
5. Catching up on Dexter and The Amazing Race this weekend. Matt and I watch these 2 shows together so, with him away, I had to refrain from watching them. It was hard but I managed!
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
Does your significant other travel for work often? Matt doesn’t too much but these 2-week stints suck.

My husband travels often, but only for 5 days at a time. It’s not so bad that way because I think the worst is the weekends alone.
Yay for no hamstring pain!

I’m lovign the way you think with getting the long run in early so you can enjoy your girl night! Hope it’s wonderful.
My husband’s job varies quite a bit, but he travels around 40% of the time. It’s hard with the kids. They miss him, I get burned out, it’s hard to get time to myself, etc.
Looking forward to a little holiday get together with my BFF & her kids this weekend, plus pomegranate martinis & pizza. Maybe a quick ski trip? We’ll see how the weather holds up.

No hamstring pain rocks.
OK, so here’s the thing – when you have these two weeks alone, you should let me Fed Ex Jake up there. He’s loud so you will never feel alone. He wakes up at ungodly hours so no worries about getting runs in (I’ll ship jog stroller too) and he has cute toes.
That right there? Is win-win.

That’s great that you felt no pain! Your speed will come back too! I finally feel recovered from being sick and I did my fastest tempo run ever yesterday 🙂
Looking forward to our running club holiday party and my friend’s bday party this weekend!

Sounds like an awesome weekend! Neither of us travels much where we can’t both go together….I would hate it if one of us was always traveling! Have fun tonight 🙂

Because I work in North Jersey, I’m generally the one traveling, though it’s only for a night at a time and not nearly as frequently this year as last. Even semi-regular two-week separations would be tough.
Enjoy the Christmas festivities!

My husband travels for work A LOT and it sucks for sure. But it’s so nice to look forward to him coming home that a little travel once in a while is okay by me.
I’m looking forward to my BlogShop class this weekend. I hope to be a PhotoShop expert by the end.
And I can’t WAIT to start really running again. T minus 4(ish) months.

I used to LOVE getting my long runs on a Friday. You kick off the weekend with a bang. Unfortunately, I’d love to say TGIF, but I have to work tomorrow at my P/T job, hookin’. J/K. Though it is a job that gives me easy money.
Your weekend sounds fab! Christmas dinner w/ the girls (mine is next Friday and Lili gets to join in her first Christmas din w/ the gals). Can’t wait to hear all about it and see the pics. Oh, and so glad that the hubs is coming home — please, we don’t need pics of what’s going to happen there. Kidding. ;o)
P and I have 7-episodes of Boardwalk Empire waiting to be watched. Since we got a TV in our bedroom, I no longer feel like hanging in his man-cave. So, when will we catch up with that? Who knows…
I’m looking forward to Lili-time (after i work tomorrow), movies w/ my sister and my brother’s girlfriend (New Year’s Eve) in the Cinema Suites, and football. I think that’s about it. Oh yeah, and laundry. You know I can’t forget about my laundry.

2 weeks sounds awful! So glad he’s back. I guess that’s a benefit of teaching – you’ll be poor your whole life, but no work travel? Yay for no pain – almost time to start training for Boston! Have fun at your girls Christmas, sounds like my dream come true!

My dad used to travel all of the time (and still does) and my mom says that why he was more sad when we left for college – ha!

Sounds like a great weekend planned! Enjoy time with the girls and Matt!
Allan traveled 6/8 weeks earlier in the fall and it was strange just being home with the dogs.

Glad to hear your hammy feels better!
This weekend: happy to run in the morning/afternoon which means the now rare occasion being able to run in daylight! Also I slept in this morning, really really late.
Hubs has a yearly conference he’s gone to every year for the past 6 years; he’s gone for about 5-6 days. There’s an occasional second conference in one year for a few days. I don’t think he’ll have to travel very often with the new job.
