If you follow Kristin Armstrong’s blog, Mile Markers, you are familiar with what she calls the Reset Run. The purpose of this run is to clear your head, recharge, and refresh. This is exactly what I needed after last week. It was an ugh, ick, and meh kind of week. I contemplated running a 5K today but my gut was screaming for a Reset Run. Fourteen miles of pavement pounding on a gorgeous Fall morning did the trick. I feel refreshed, things are in perspective, and I’m determined to make this week much better.
In the afternoon I hit up lululemon for some Fall/Winter running necessities. I’m always leery of running tights. My legs are short and muscular and I think they look like stuffed sausages in tights! I tried on every running crop they had and decided on the Priiti Crop. They were by far the most flattering and comfortable. I also got the Run: Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve (love!) and another Cool Racerback tank (I wear these every week; can’t have enough!). All together now…
I used to be Nike obsessed and now I’m slowly converting to lululemon obsessed. I don’t mind spending the money (the R&D discount is sweet) because I spend hours each week in running clothes and I want them to last, look good, and not get funkified after a sweaty run.
Tell me about your weekend run. Long, short, Reset Run, race, or no race…I want to hear it all!

That is one super cute running outfit! I don’t know what you’re talking about with your legs, they look like runner legs to me!

Love, love Kristin Armstrong’s blog. Have you read the book Mile Markers? So good. Awesome you had a great reset run! I actually don’t own anything from Lululemon… it’s so expensive! But I must admit the stuff is cute.
PS I heart the colors in your bedroom 🙂

I did! And I even paged my favorite posts so I can re-read them!
The colors of the bedroom were inspired by Santorini, Greece!

Love those colors too!

My 3rd yr of med school (last year), a lot of my runs were “reset runs” where I just processed everything I was learning. I ran 20 miles this weekend! On the one hand, it was exciting in that I felt great cardiovascularly and am not too tired, which is different than a lot of my other 20 milers I’ve done before. It sucked in that my L IT band (I think) flared up, manifesting as sharp L lateral knee pain. Stabbing knife like. It was less than fun.

Meggie, how’s your IT band today?

Congratulations on 14 miles!

Your store still has the r&d discount? Mine had it for one season, if you could show you had signed up for a race 10k . They stopped it though. I did a 5mi midtempo run fri, 3 mi hike yesterday, then 10.5 mi long run today.

I get the R&D discount for being a running coach. I didn’t know they had seasonal discounts for races. It definitely helps offset the cost a bit.

You look adorable, and I love your legs, but not in a creepy way. I wish mine looked like that! To be even more creepy, your bedroom is gorgeous. I absolutely love it. Glad you are “reset” for the upcoming week!

Love lululemon. I am hoping they get more stuff in in the black swan color which i love!
I did 13 miles this weekend. The run itself was really good. Legs felt great until some hip area pain at the very end…been taking it easy since then and will hopefully be good by Tuesday…

love that outfit! I really need to get to a lululemon. I’ve never been..

Why can’t my short legs look like your short legs (w/c by the way, do not look short). I recently went to the doctor’s and they had to take my height down. I said, “I know… 4’11 and 3/4” even before she could say it. All she could say was, “yeah, you’re not quite 5!” I’m never going to be 5 ft. tall. My husband once asked me if I needed a booster seat for the back seat. Uh, that’s for kids that are under 3’9. I am an inch and some taller than that! I’m the girl in the freezer aisle standing inside the freezer to get something all the way up top. Shortly after, I have nipplitis. The point of my story, I have short legs too.
I love lululemon too. Can you believe it’s the only thing that my brother doesn’t get a discount at his gym? Every other sports apparel is discounted. Not lululemon. Damn them!
Long run this weekend never happened. I mustered a lame 10-mile run this morning. Thank goodness Lili didn’t wake up. I had the baby monitor right next to me while catching up on Grey’s Anatomy & Pan Am. I’m really into that show.
Great run this weekend. And I can use a lot of reset runs. I seriously feel like I ran more pregnant than I’m running post. I need help.

Love lulu-such awesome stuff! You look great in your choices. I tend to wear capri’s until it’s really cold out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Wow–amazing Boston story you have!
