The plus side to a small marathon (or down side, depends on how you look at it) is there are plenty of pictures of just you running the race. From all timepoints. Looking oh so fabulous.
I rarely like race photos. I look miserable (even if I wasn’t during the race) and always appear to be race walking.
Because we can all use a good laugh on this Wednesday, I’m sharing my Lehigh Valley Marathon race photos. Even the horrendous ones. You are welcome.
Smilin’ and overstridin’ during the early miles.
Things are getting tough as I enter yet another towpath…but I manage a half-assed wave.
Still on that towpath and not looking happy.
I’m en route to a BQ here, seconds away from the finish line. Do I look happy? No. I was trying desperately to hold it together (i.e., not cry) so I guess that’s the reason for the pained look.
How about a fist pump though?
This is a typical Kristy crossing the finish line photo – obsessed with stopping the Garmin at the precise time and never looking at the camera.
Now I’m beginning to cry and I’m just overwhelmed with emotion but there were no tears.
This one takes the cake…doesn’t it scream BQer? 😉 No wonder the volunteers rushed over to me!
Got any good race photos to share? And fess up…do you actually buy any of your race photos? I never have…just because they are so awful!

Haha, I loved your race photos! I always look constipated in my my photos, so I liked yours better. 🙂

Your pictures were good!! I always have my finger on the Garmin so I can still look up when I cross the finish line and press it so it is right. You should buy a picture since it was such an important race!

Those pictures were not bad at all. Most of the ones of me from TOU were so bad that I didn’t even put the proofs up on my blog, and that’s the way it is in most races. I have bought a handful–every now and then there’s one where I look like I’m actually running or not about to give birth–but the vast majority of them make me look like a walker in labor.
I agree that you should buy one from your BQ race, though!

My finish line photos are always the exact same pose as yours – pausing the Garmin! I love the last one, it just says it all! I actually thought you looked great in most of them! After my first marathon, looking at the pics, my mom told me that my friend (who I ran the whole thing with) looked normal, but I looked like I was in some sort of program where they let people from the special olympics run the marathon. Needless to say, I have screenshots, but I’ve never purchased a single race photo. Even if they were great, the prices are ridic.

I always screen shot my race photos – I’ve never bought bc 1) they’re way to expensive and 2) I don’t look particularly good in any of them!
I love the picture of you finishing – priceless. I would actually probably buy that one.

i LOVE your pics! you look great throughout all of them so definitely shows how steady you were throughout the race! i am ALWAYS stopping my garmin first thing. haha!

You actually look pretty darn awesome in your race photos! You don’t look miserable or like you’re walking (like me). I don’t think I’ll ever buy a race photo unless it looks like it should be on the cover of Runners World. Haha!

Nice pictures! I have never actually bought any of mine. Maybe one day….

haha, I love them! I bought my marathon race photo, but that’s it. I always forward them to my mom though, who always feels the need to buy every single one! hehe.

I am sure you do not want to see my face after my pithy runs. It looks like a person who has danced all night at McFadden’s and ate two pieces of Lorenzos at 3 in the morning. Very fun post. Keep up the good work. If you have a post you want to share with the lunch break audience, please come back soon.
