hit-or-miss

September 23, 2012 by Kristy 10 Comments

A few thoughts on this beautiful Sunday…

Running:  hit-or-miss
That accurately describes these past 4 weeks.  I’m hot…then cold.  Up…then down.  I’m not too stressed after last weekend’s PR and the fact that this is supposed to be my downtime.  But, I do have 2 races coming up and I want to capitalize on my current speed so it’s back to work tomorrow.

iOS 6 upgrade
Has anyone downloaded the new upgrade?  My favorite features are the do not disturb notification and panoramic camera.  No more texts waking up this grandma at 9:30PM!

Boston 2013 – the way it should be
Even though I’m not running Boston in 2013 doesn’t mean I cannot be *mildly* Boston obsessed.  The B.A.A. announced last Friday that registration will re-open tomorrow (!) and will continue until the maximum field size is reached.  So everyone that registered over the past 2 weeks will be accepted (and then some)!  This is fantastic and the way IT SHOULD BE.  What a difference from last year.  Congrats to all the runners that were accepted!

Favorite iOS 6 upgrade feature?

I didn’t know the upgrade included the panoramic camera!!! I thought that was only for the new iphone! excited!!!!!

i’m glad that everyone got into boston. i agree that that is the way it should be. i do have to say i am a little sad that i was one of the 3000 people who missed out last year after BQing and wanting to run. I think the BAA should offer us therapy or something 😛

I would love to run Boston someday! That is my ultimate running goal! I just found your blog and your running is very impressive and you have achieved so much in a short period of time! You keep me hopeful and motivated!

I upgraded to i OS 6 but don’t think the panoramic camera is part of the upgrade but a new feature of the iPhone 5. If it is, I don’t have it on my phone or don’t know how to use it. It is a very cool feature though!

    Looking forward to following you!

OMG I am so in love with iOS6 it’s hard to choose, but the shared photo stream for sure! More pics of my nephew is impossible to beat. I like the offline reading lists too!

I”m so uncool with my non-smart phone 🙂 It’s ok because then it’s not too traumatic when the kid tries to flush it haha

I am really technologically out of it… I don’t think I have the iOS6 upgrade (and barely know what it is), but if it has a do not disturb thing I am all for it! For the same reason as you – it drives me nuts when I’m just falling asleep and get a text. haha. oh, grandma problems…

Haven’t upgraded yet…but need to get on that. We charge our phones in the kitchen overnight just so we don’t get woken up by texts 🙂

I agree with you about Boston! After working so hard to qualify, it is just not right to then not be accepted.

I also love the “do not disturb” feature, though I’m not too crazy about the new Map app. Oh well, that’s the miss I guess. I’m super happy that Boston stayed open–now hopefully it’ll be a while before they tighten the times again.

I still need to get the iOS 6 update, but I’m also patiently (or not so patiently) waiting until I can just get a new iPhone. I have the 3GS right now and I’m eligible for upgrade on Oct 30th. I can’t wait! This phone is on its last legs..

I usually just put my phone on silent — I have a droid so no IOS6 for me (whatever it is)!
