Anyone else ridiculously happy for a 3-day weekend? I need a vacation. Ha ha, just kidding. I have something fun planned for Saturday! That’s all I’m going to say. I want to keep you in suspense 😉
I plan to bore you with more pictures from Ireland. Here goes…
Pub Crawling
It’s no secret that Matt and I like beer. But we also like to hop from bar to bar. When we go on vacation, we always investigate where the good bars are and try to make our own bar crawl. Ireland is the perfect place for pub crawling. I swear pubs out number people in some places! Here are a few of our favorites.
Kilkenny
This little town is a few hours southwest of Dublin. Matt and I passed through here on our way to Kinsale. We loved it and wished we would have stayed the night (hate when that happens!). It’s a small town but not too small and so quaint.
Temple Bar
I saved the best for last. Our most fun night was at the Temple Bar in Dublin. We stumbled in here thinking it would be super touristy and we would stay for just 1 pint. It wasn’t that touristy at all (sidenote: Matt and I hate to look like tourists on vacation. Sometimes it’s inevitable but we try to avoid it at all costs). We saw 2 guys setting up their guitars (and banjo!) and waited for them to begin. Thank god we did because they were incredible. So, so talented. They had everyone in the bar up on their feet. I even bought their CD during a break, which is something I never do. They are called All Folked Up (interesting) and I can’t find any website for them other than some YouTube videos.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Stay tuned for my recap of Saturday fun!

I’m surprised at how cold it looks there!
I’d love to go to Ireland one day, it’s on my travel bucket list!

It wasn’t so much the temperature but the wind! Crazy, crazy wind. Like I-might-blow-away wind. So much for doing my hair.

WELCOME HOME!!! I think since this pregnancy, I’ve craved beer 3-4x. Two of them were after races — naturally the 10-mile St. Paddy’s Day race where they actually served beer at 11am. HA! And then a 5-mile race where it was HOT because it was a 1pm race. Not to mention, there was a street fair that served gyros and kettle corn and, um, BEER. But no freaking ice-cream?!? WTH.
I could tell that Ireland is the place to Pub Crawl. LOL How many pubs did you go to in one day/night? Unfortunately, my husband is not a beer drinker (though he will drink socially)– his gut is from food. ;o)
And, GREAT run for being back from vacation. I have to tell you — my pace slows down heavily after a vacay — and if beer is involved, I guarantee I’d be wogging in for a week or two. I’ll be ecstatic with a 10:00 min/mi after this baby pops out!
Have a WONDERFUL Memorial Day Weekend. I’m assuming more beer will be involved?

Ha! A beer after a race is the best!
We went to about 3-4 pubs a night. Don’t even begin to do the math and figure out how many pints I had 😉 Let’s just say it was a lot!
I bet you can pull a 10:00 min/mile post-baby…you have continued to run, lift, and cross-train throughout your pregnancy. Are you still thinking about the Philly marathon?

Looks like Gus O’Connor’s Pub is doubling as a hold-Kristy-up-so-she-doesn’t-tip-over! And no wonder, if that huge a@@ beer in the picture below it is served there.
Must get to Ireland soon!

Ha ha! The pints are outta control over there! *And we had a pint in every pub*. I’m surprised my liver is still functioning!

Awh, that little town does look cute. I would dye to go to Ireland. My husband and I were just talking about going overseas next summer. We are thinking Europe somewhere.
