A nice, easy run to shake out the legs for tomorrow’s dress rehearsal (that’s how I like to think of the last 20-miler before the taper). It looks like the weather is going to cooperate too – high of 59, low of 48…that’s shorts-wearing weather!
Time for a random edition of Friday Favorites!
Saint Joseph’s University
Oh, I know this is so obvious. But what would Friday Favorites be without one of my all-time favorite things?! Brief background for newer readers: SJU is where Matt and I went to college (and met). Our dog is named Hawk (after the SJU mascot). My brother is also a SJU alum. We are slightly fanatical about what I consider the best school on earth. The proof is in the pictures…
Nuts, right? My sister-in-law says it’s a cult.
Wawa is a convenience store (think upscale 7-11, minus the funny smell that most 7-11s have) found in PA, NJ, MD, VA, and DE. Wawa is awesome. Good coffee, no surcharge ATMs, and actual healthy food options (although I often find myself in there getting ice cream). Sorry to the folks outside of these 5 states…you are missing out.
I think I’m officially giving up on wearing heels. OK, I rarely where heels to begin with but I’ve been wearing flats to work for the past couple of weeks. Yesterday I wore my boots, with a small heel, and I could not wait to get them off. Not to mention my ankles were wobbly all day. They are just no good for you….they are torturous! Jen did a post a few months ago about high heels, bringing up some great points why we should not be wearing them. At least I don’t have many heels to swear off…luckily my standard uniform of Uggs, flip flops, and running shoes are all flat!
Is anyone obsessed with their college like me?
Any thoughts on heels? Yay or nay?

what a beautiful couple! 🙂
one of my best buddies from high school when to SJU 🙂
my coworker (who is also a runner, and injured with a stress fracture in her ankle) were literally JUST discussing how horrible high heels are! obviously, in her case they hurt her ankle. I just hate wearing them in general because I’m a klutz, but I can totally feel the stiffness in my leg muscles and joints after a hard run and then a day of heels at the office. I would prefer sneakers and (obviously) flipflops all the time!!!
Totally agree! I look like a toddler playing dress up in heels!
My college is pretty awesome (George Mason University) even if most people haven’t heard of it 🙂
I love Wawa. It’s the place to be around here!
totally obsessed with my college!! i get made fun of for this all the time…I live in Utah and went to a super small college in KY (Centre College, 1000 people) so since no one has ever heard of it…they just make fun of me that I am “stuck” in my college years.
I also only wear flats…sucks because I have tons of cute heels but they just do not feel worth it anymore…comfort please!
Wawa is the best!! The other states are totally missing out!
I LOVE seeing other people’s wedding pics, you looked gorgeous! I have an unnatural love for my alma mater, sadly I didn’t meet my hubby there but my sister is going there and I am living vicariously through her. Wawa has the best mints (random, I know) and I am waaay too lazy and uncoordinated to wear heels too much. Flats all the way, and we are heading into flipflop season, yay!

Wow. What a collection of great memories and stories. Pretty remarkable stuff! And easy to see why all the St. Joseph’s stuff made Friday Favorites.
Good luck with the “rehearsal” tomorrow.
oh my gosh yes Wawa is the BEST!!!! I live in upstate ny now,no wawas 🙁 but grew up in DE and had Wawa coffee almost everyday!!
