lululemon Vinyasa Scarf
I’ve been eyeing this scarf forever. Comfy, warm, and a billion ways to wear it. I bought it a few weeks ago and it has quickly become a wardrobe staple. I agonized in the store about what color to get for about a ½ hour. Here’s me at working wearing it for the second (or third) time this week. It’s a creepy bathroom shot; thankfully no one walked in. That would have been weird.
Honda marathoner commercial
Anyone see this commercial yet? It’s great. I love how the girl does the marathon shuffle over to her Honda. So absolutely accurate.
The Bachelor
Jeez, this is embarrassing but I was sucked into another season of The Bachelor. I only watch it when it’s the bachelor (not the bachelorette) because nothing is more entertaining then watching a bunch of batshit crazy girls find their “soulmate”. We all know Courtney is crazy but is she ever without a glass of wine in hand? She drinks like a fish! And Blakely, Ben will never pick you because you are over 30. The guy always picks a 24-25 year old. Speaking of which, and maybe this is because I’m much older than that, what’s with the overuse of “like”? Ben, I’m really like glad we like got to like spend like so much like time together. Stop!
Sigh, I still watch every week.
Friday rest days
For the past 2 weeks, I’ve taken Friday as a rest day. Since I work from home on Fridays, I get to “sleep in” extra late, rest the day before my long run, and Thursday night I’m feeling like this…
Which day(s) do you take as a rest day? Is it planned or when you feel you need it?
Thoughts on The Bachelor?
Alyssa says
That describes my Thursday/Friday exactly, except for the working from home part. I love staying up “late” (as in, like 10:30pm) on Thursday nights and sleeping in on Fridays. I also LOVE that commercial. It seems like everyone in the blog world and at my job loves The Bachelor – in all honestly, I’m terrified to watch because I know it would suck me in and the last thing I need is ANOTHER time waster in my life!

Friday is also my full rest day mainly because I do a long run Saturday (this weekend doing Sat and Sun LR.)
I also get sucked into Bachelor every time (glad i’m not the only one!) Guilty pleasure and something to look forward to on a Monday night! I agree their use of the English language is atrocious on that show.

I’ve been taking Mondays as rest days. I used to take 2 rest days, but now that I’m not doing long runs, I don’t feel like a need it. I always feel relaxed on Sunday night knowing that I don’t have to mess with the stroller the next morning. 🙂

You KNOW I’m watching the Bachelor! That shit always sucks me in. And I can’t stand how Courtney talks! The way she moves her mouth drives me bonkers. I think it’s Kacie B. All the way.
So embarassing that I just typed all of that. 🙂
Have a great weekend!

i live in scarves during the winter…literally…i have one on at all times. i am planning lulu trip this weekend so i’ll have to check out the vinyasa scarf.
i don’t plan rest days. i take them when my schedule is too busy to allow for a workout or when my body tells me it’s necessary!

Beautiful scarf!
I made the executive decision to not watch the bachelor this season. just couldn’t commit. plus I don’t think my husband could take it anymore 🙂
I usually take my rest days on Mondays. A Friday rest day sounds like a really good idea, though!
Katie says
Love the scarf AND the commercial!!! 🙂 I don’t watch the Bachelor because it makes me angry. I admit I’m speaking from complete ignorance, (having never seen it) but I feel like it makes all women seem like shallow catty b!tches, which makes me mad! Enjoy your rest day and have a GREAT weekend, Kristy! 🙂

Friday has always been my rest day! Very rarely do I switch that part of my running schedule around.
my roommate and I watch the Bachelor together. It is just so bad, but so good…like watching a train wreck. Although I don’t think I’d actually want to watch a train wreck, but that is the saying.
Meggie says
I need to go back and look at prior training schedules to see when my rest days were! I think they’re usually monday and thursdays or maybe its sundays….
Rest days typically change for me though. It more depends on my schedule. For example, when I was training for NJ if there was a really busy school day (ie on call), then that became a default rest day.
And, omg, I know what you mean about the Bachelor. Daniel Radcliffe hosted Live with Kelly on Tuesday and he watched it for the first time the night before and the comments he had about it were hysterical…

That Honda commercial is amazing! I completely know how she feels–I wonder if they got a real runner for the spot?
Toni says
I love the scarf!!!! Rest days for me are varied, no particular day.
Tricia says
I take Friday’s as a rest day too but today was the first time it was also a work at home day and the combination was lovely.
Beth @ RUNNING around my kitchen says
I think I might be in love with that scarf now!!! I am counting the days till I go home in Feb and I get to go shopping in an actual store 🙂 Don’t feel bad about The Bachelor, my guilty pleasure is The Kardashian shows (yes, all of them) and I can’t kick it! I normally try to plan for my rest day to be Sun and then that’s a good safety for me incase I miss a workout during the week, I can just back it up and if I’m on schedule, then I get to rest the day after a long run!
Rachel says
I absolutely have to get your scarf!!! I LOVE IT!!! You are so photogenic.
FYI: do you feel like you’re losing weight during this marathon training or just maintaining?
