1. Sunscreen
I know, it’s a strange favorite. I never leave the house without sunscreen on my face and neck (I can’t say the same for make-up, sorry Mom). I remember a dermatologist telling me years ago that the best anti-aging cream was sunscreen.
For everyday, I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream with SPF 15. I’ve been using this since I was 23 (many moons ago). I’ve tried others but always come back to this one. It’s inexpensive and doesn’t irritate my skin.
When I’m going to be outdoors for awhile (running, at the beach, etc.) I use Neutrogena Sport Face 70+. LOVE this stuff. It doesn’t sweat off into my eyes and doesn’t feel greasy.
2. Working from home
I’m fortunate to be able to work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays. Of course, I love the zero commute and staying in my PJs (or running clothes) all day but I love the freedom it gives me with training. I generally save my longer short runs (or track workouts) for Tuesday and do my long runs on Friday. It’s especially good in the winter because I can run outside over lunch and save myself from the dreaded treadmill.
3. Mums
Mums just signify Fall. The front of my house is full of yellow mums. Here’s a peek at my deck…
Apparently they are tough to kill (I’m rough on plants) which makes them even better.
Do you have a favorite sunscreen that you wear when running? Do you work from home? Have a Friday Favorite to share?

I am also a sunscreen freak and wear it on my face every day, and always for runs. I just don’t get when we are like 2 hours into a sunny run and my friends will be like “oh, maybe I should have put on some sunscreen”. Um, duh. Even my friend who’s a doctor does that!
SO jealous of your working at home and running at lunch. My running at lunch involves sprinting to the copier so I can actually have a few minutes to eat.

I have this Aveeno sunscreen for my face that I like and I use Banana Boat sport for my body.
Working from home is pretty sweet! I used to do it. 🙂

Oh I wish I could work from home 1 or 2 days a week! jealous!! 🙂

I so wish I could work from home 2-days a week also. And, I would also choose Tuesday and Fridays. Did you pick those days yourself or they gave that to you?
I wear some Sport sunscreen. I’m so bad, I don’t even know which one it is. But yeah, if I don’t put it on my face, I get red. When I did the relay for the NJ Long Branch last year, boy, did I misjudge the weather. I ended up wearing capris and getting a really bad tan. I’m already brown, but it looked like I was wearing knee highs in May. How awful. Took me MONTHS to get rid of. Lesson learned. Never leave home w/out your sunblock/screen.

I picked those days.
The NJ Marathon is the worst. I saw so many people burnt to a crisp post-race. I think I applied 3x the normal amount of sunscreen for that race!

Working from home is the best!!! I would try to do that on travel days, where I had a flight arriving early in the morning or leaving right after work. And yes it made training so much easier too! Of course now I’m not working as i apply to schools so every day is a work at home day 🙂

It is SO true. The best anti-aging cream IS SUNSCREEN! And so much cheaper than that department store stuff. I’m right there with you on the Neutrogena sunscreen products. Love them.

I like the neutrogena sheer something or other – its been my favorite for a long time. My maternal grandfather had melanoma so I am def conscious of sunscreen wearing!

I need a good sunscreen when I run. Thanks for sharing. Yup, I work from home since I’m a stay at home mom now.

I have neutrogena healthy defense moisturizer w/30spf for normal wear, and I have that same Sport Face for running or beach days. I’m amused by the name of sport face, I always want to call it my game face. I don’t work from home but I do get 2 months off (with only sporadic work hours) in the summer. Definitely makes training easier!

Oooh working from home is a nice touch! I’m a teacher so I don’t get to do that : )
