Happy Monday! Only 4 more days of work left. I can do this. I can do this. I hope some of you have a short week too!
Never mind my gibberish title. Creativity is not my strong suit and I’ve used “weekend recap” way too often. Speaking of which, my recap can be divided into “run” and “fun”.
FUN
Friday night Matt and I tried to watch The Hangover Part II but barely made it halfway through before turning it off. So, so bad. It’s the same movie over again minus the laughs. I wasn’t expecting much for a Part II but this was ridiculous.
On Saturday we hosted a Christmas party for Matt’s family. Matt comes from a big family (youngest of 7) so we are talking lots of adults and kiddies. Everything went very well (we also hosted last year so we had some practice). Good food, good company and lots of delicious treats!
When I was sufficiently stuffed to the gills, Matt and I watched St. Joe’s CRUSH Villanova! What a prefect way to end a great day! St. Joe’s and Nova are bitter rivals and nothing made me happier then sending Nova back to the Main Line with their tails between their legs 🙂
RUN
Last week was a solid week of running (good thing, since I ate my weight in cookies and cake). I’m still base building and won’t start officially training for Boston until Jan. 2 but I got in 35 miles. I did 10 miles on Saturday with 6 miles at 8:30 pace. I finally feel like I got my speed back. 8:30 pace felt good…almost as effortless as it did during the Lehigh Valley Marathon! On Sunday I did 7 very slow, Garmin-free miles. It was bitter cold but so refreshing.
Anyone see The Hangover Part II? Anyone actually watch the whole movie?
Anyone else stuff themselves with treats this weekend? My neighbor keeps baking and bringing stuff over for Matt and I to eat (she’s an incredible baker too). I think I may pop.

We almost watched the Hangover II this weekend and I’m glad we didn’t!
I’m seriously missing out on these holiday treats that everyone is complaining about eating too much of…we went to one party, but my mom was the cook and she is AWFUL. Ugh, just thinking about that food is turning my stomach haha.

Didn’t watch Hangover II, I will save myself the trouble. I should rewatch the original though! No short week here unless you count an “early dismissal” at 2pm on Friday. The stuffing with treats began Friday night at a coworker’s party and will continue this week with a holiday breakfast, work lunch for my department, and a wednesday night xmas party.

I haven’t even seen the Hangover Part I!! My husband keeps bugging me to see it. Maybe we’ll watch it this weekend. But generally, Part II movies suck. 🙂
And the good thing about having moved to Boston a year ago is that we don’t know enough people here to have them bring us treats!! But then I’ve been baking so that isn’t helping matters.
Good luck with your 4-day work week!

It’s a must see….absolutely hysterical!

Part II movies usually suck. The Hangover was so good, there should never have been a Part II idea.
WOW on Matt’s huge family. So this is an annual event you will be hosting? Do you see his family on Christmas Eve/Day also? I want to see pictures.
Great job on the mileage last week! I can’t believe training officially starts on Jan. 2nd. How exciting!!!
I can’t believe I’m working on freaking Friday. Seriously. Not cool.
Here’s to a FAST week.

We usually rotate it among the siblings but we happen to host 2 years in-a-row. We spend Christmas Eve and day with my family.

Dear I have seen your tiny little waist – you are far from popping. And that’s not jealousy talking. Wait…..yes…..yes, it is.
My calves feel oodles better today. God bless the stick. Or as Jake calls it “the big dick.”
Kristy says
Oh that’s great…so you can get back to training tomorrow 🙂

I don’t think I have seen Part 2 unless my roommate has watched it and I have watched part without realizing it which is entirely possible bc she is obsessed with the original. Most Part 2s are pretty bad. :/

Go St. Joe’s! That win made me so happy 🙂 I’ve seen the previews for Hangover II and, I agree, I think it looks like the exact. same. movie. We started Horrible Bosses the other night and it was….horrible. We didn’t make it through that one. Way to go hosting the huge Christmas party and nice job on the 8:30 pace!

hooray for getting your speed back! that’s great. To be honest, I didn’t really like the original hangover that much. Not my kind of thing, I guess!

I keep hearing that about The Hangover 2, and it makes me want to cry. I was so excited for so long for it to come out, and now it is rumored to suck. I stuff myself with treats every weekend. I can’t even blame the holiday treats. My husband brought me a Chic-Fil-A milkshake Thursday, and frozen yogurt Friday. I’m out of control.

I thought the first 10 minutes of Hangover 2 – when they’re making un of themselves in Hangover 1 – was pretty entertaining. I could have done without the rest.

I also ate my weight in cookies, but did NOT run. Oops?
