If you want to hit “mark all as read” in your Google Reader because you are sick of hearing about Boston, I don’t blame you. I’m pretty damn sick of it myself.
The update is that I still don’t know. I make daily calls to the B.A.A. (I swear there is an audible groan when they hear my voice). I send emails and faxes. Has it helped speed up the process? Nope.
Yesterday I was told there were 300 runners in my situation (most of them ran international races) and they hope to get through them yesterday and today and let us know on Friday. I was told they are not giving away my spot; just checking that my finish time was not falsified. They have 2 emails (which I also faxed to them) from the LVM stating that my finish time is 3:43:46. What the hell more do you need?
Maybe I’ll hear today? I’m not holding my breath. Take your damn time, B.A.A.
In the meantime, I’m trying to focus on other things. Like the fact that I’m running a 5K this weekend with my niece, Sarah (her second 5K!).

You know you ran the time. LVM knows it. BAA will soon know it. I vote that you quit stressing, book your boston hotel and flight, put together your training plan and drink some beer.

hotel is booked! and for the beer, yep, i’ve been drinking a few every night to cope 😉

Man, getting into Boston is way tougher than I thought! Who knew that running the qualifying time was the easy part? 🙂

I wonder what’s involved in making sure the time wasn’t falsified…you’d think results posted online (from chip timing, yes?) And confirmation from LVM race director would be plenty. I’d give those more credit than a finisher’s certificate that in my opinion could be falsified/edited more easily. Friday will be here soon…have fun with your niece!

I would never ignore your blog! What is their problem – maybe you should send them the link to your blog so they can see how hard you’ve worked! Very impressive that it’s your niece’s second 5k – enjoy!

Hoping the BAA gets back to you soon! And, your niece is adorable – have fun running with her!

Kristin, a friend of ours who also ran Lehigh on 9/11 had a 3 day delay (he was part of the -5 min. group) for the BAA to verify his time. I don’t know if that makes you feel any better, but wanted you to know that he finally got his ’email’. You ran the time – you’re persistent in that way & in your contacting the BAA. I am sure the wait is agonizing, though. I hope you hear soon!

Sheesh. This ‘getting-into-Boston’ is not for the faint of heart! it’s a good thing you’re on top of things and have been following through!
I have a feeling… you’re IN!

I really hope they get in touch with you today! I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel having to wait so long. Keep venting! We are here to listen!

I guess we have learned the BQ is the easy part! Don’t worry it will all sort itself out and it will all be worth it in April 🙂 Have fun with your niece!
