race pics and a giveaway

As usual, my pictures from RBM are nothing less than stellar.

These 3 are the best of the bunch, no lie.

lazy stroll across the finish line…

I just finished up my mandatory 7-days-no-running-post-marathon rest week.  The first 3 days are always nice but then I get antsy.  My sleeping was off this week and physically I feel like a sloth.  Today I enjoyed 6 very easy miles and homeostasis was restored…just like that.

giveaway
The folks at Under Armour contacted me about a review and giveaway of their Fleece Divide Hoody.  I’m a sucker for a cozy hooded sweatshirt so why not?

pros
1.  Definitely cozy and comfy.  The kind of sweatshirt you put on after a freezing cold long run in the winter.
2.  It’s 100% polyester so you could potentially wear it running, as long as you have a wicking long-sleeved shirt underneath.

cons
1.  It’s not really my style.  It’s a tad too shiny?
2.  It’s too big.  Entirely my fault though.  It is semi-fitted and I assumed it would run small so I ordered a medium (I’m normally a XS/S).  A small would have been plenty big.

Now the good stuff – UA is giving away a Fleece Divide Hoody to one lucky reader!

to enter
Leave a comment telling me your one essential piece of winter running gear.  That’s it.  I loathe complicated giveaways.

the rules
1.  US residents only.
2.  Must leave a comment to enter by midnight Wednesday, December 19th.
3.  One winner will be randomly selected and announced on Thursday, December 20th.  If the winner does not claim their prize within 24 hours, another winner will be selected.

Good luck!  I’m off to enjoy more homemade peppermint bark.

yum

I was given the UA Fleece Divide Hoody in exchange for my review but my opinions are my own.

I must have gloves in the cold–I am miserable if my hands are freezing!
I have also found YakTracks to be pretty awesome for snowy running.

I love running in my running skirts! I know it’s winter and its cold but with a pair of thin three tights under neath its perfect for this chilly weather. :) (this hoodie would the perfect addition to my running gear!)

Love the determination in your photos :)

In the winter I cannot run without my gloves that work with my iphone… you know, sometimes you need to change the song to get you moving!

    Congrats on the marathon!

I love my beanie with a hole for my ponytail. It keeps my ears warm and I look so weird with a three inch long puff out the back it makes me smile (a good thing at 5:00am).

I AM DYING WITH YOUR PICS. YOU are TOO cute, but yeah, you seriously are all business. Still, an awesome time.

Winter running gear — what I need — skully and/or ski mask for my ears/face. I hate when my face is cold.

Ooh, give me an entry! I could never have too many hoodies! My essential piece of gear is…..boring. It’s my hat (fleece beanie–not attractive but cozy)–it handles both wind and cold.

High-fiving the Grim Reaper! I wish I’d thought of that for my CIM pictures.

I’m a little behind on blog reading, but looks like you rocked that marathon! Good job on the post-race no running too – that’s so hard for me!

My favorite winter running gear for really cold days is my Nike Hyperwarm mockturleneck. It was warm enough that it was all I needed for my 19*F run the other day!

Way to go on the marathon! I’d be so happy with a 3:41!! My favorite winter running gear is a super cute jacket I got from Athleta last year. It’s pretty warm so I have to reserve it only for really cold days which we haven’t had a lot of this year in PA, have we?

I love running tights! My favorite are from the Gap fit line. They are capris. Most of the time I wear a team sparkle skirt on top of them so I’m not just running around america showing off my booty!
